Impacts of swine waste application with subsequent inundations on nutrient and trace metal mobility in agricultural soils

Short Abstract: Land-applied animal waste can be beneficial for soil health yet cause both nutrient overload in soils and contamination of freshwater bodies. This work aims to determine the impacts of land-applied swine waste with subsequent flooding on nutrient retention and cation exchange capacity of soils. Additionally, this work aims to incorporate research into the undergraduate experience of students from a local community college (Western Texas College).
