Jennifer Cole

Education and Diversity Advisory Board

Dr. Jennifer Cole is the Assistant Chair and Lecturer in Chemical and Biological Engineering in the Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University. Dr. Cole is also the Associate Director of the Northwestern Center for Engineering Education Research. Dr. Cole’s primary teaching is in capstone design, freshman design, and graduate student professional development. Her research interests are in engineering design education, with a specific focus on improving mathematical and analytical capabilities of students, understanding how students work in teams, and how diversity, equity, and inclusion can be integrated into the curriculum. She earned her BS in Chemical Engineering at University of Louisville and her PhD in Chemical Engineering at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
