About the Role

Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Essential Functions

  • Supports management of projects (day to day) for integration of convergence research, engineering workforce development, diversity and culture of inclusion, and innovation ecosystem

  • Assess needs for cross-collaboration

  • Implements best practices in team science to facilitate building, and maintaining teams

  • Supports training on team science and team formation best practices

  • Evaluates team performance

  • Provides enhancement opportunities for the team

  • In collaboration with the other CASFER program managers, ensures connections are maintained between the thrusts, testbeds, EWD, DCI, & IE

  • Works with the Convergence Coordinator and CASFER Director to ensure convergence between the thrusts

  • Cross-trains with the Industrial Liaison Program Manager and the EWD/DCI Program Manager

  • Works closely with the Industrial Liaison Program Manager to make connections with the needs and capacities of students and industry and to connect research projects with translational opportunities

  • Facilitates integration with testbeds

  • Provides weekly updates to Director and other CASFER leadership

  • Supports writing of reports and presentations summarizing CASFER convergence research and integration with other CASFER activities
