Crystallization

Definition

Crystallization is a separation and purification process in which dissolved solutes form solid crystals from a solution when the solution becomes supersaturated.

The crystallization process involves two key stages: nucleation and crystal growth. Nucleation is the initial formation of small, stable clusters of molecules, while crystal growth occurs as additional molecules deposit onto these nuclei, forming larger crystals.
