Development
CASFER Education & Workforce Development will train the next generation of engineers and technical workforce with skills set at the intersection of engineering, agricultural sciences, and environmental science, through K-12 Education, Higher Ed Programs and Education for All.
CASFER will also focus on creating agents of change and influencers targeting formal and informal education along the K-gray spectrum. Further, these EWD initiatives will focus on the development of technical skills and professional skills to provide a well-rounded skill set for the next generation of the NCE workforce.

Educational Outreach Events
Research Experience for Undergraduates
During our summer program, CASFER hosts undergraduate students from across the country to join CASFER laboratories and learn about scientific research under the mentorship of faculty and post-doctoral researchers.
Students work on current CASFER projects, gaining valuable lab experience and understanding of the scientific method. They also participate in a variety of leadership and communication skills training to enable them to become part of the next generation of NCE leaders.

The Education & Development team is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of experts in education, engineering, and other related fields. The team is distributed across each partner institution, to ensure the active participation and distribution of education and development initiatives across all communities that CASFER represents.
