About the event
CASFER RET alum Milene DeFarias and her students from Southcrest Christian School in Lubbock, Texas participated in the Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams Grant initiative.
They worked with CASFER engineers to help these high school students develop research and develop technologies aimed to relieve usage pressure on the Oglala Aquifer. These high school students had the opportunity to travel to MIT and showcase their research and technologies, and we were incredibly proud of how well they did!
CASFER works with teachers in our RET Program to help drive STEM education in K-12 classrooms, and we are ecstatic to see a passion for engineering blossom in these young minds.
