Norma Aguirre
Business Coordinator
Norma E. Aguirre is serving as the administrative coordinator for the Institute of Sustainability and Circular Economy (ISCE) and the NSF-funded CASFER Engineering Research Center at Texas Tech University.
Previously employed at Texas Tech in the College of Arts and Sciences, Dean’s Office, Student Division, from 2004 to 2009 and in the Mathematics and Statistics Department from 1993 to 2003.
While employed at Tech she was a recipient of one of the Quality Service Awards (2008) and the Superior Achievement Award (1996).
Norma attended Texas Tech University the Fall of 2002 through the Fall of 2006 while concurrently enrolled at South Plains College the Fall of 2002 through the Fall of 2005.
During the 16 years she was away, she held other positions in higher education: Missouri Western State University, UMKC School of Medicine, and UMKC School of Pharmacy in St. Joseph and Kansas City, Missouri, respectively.
Norma is one of 9 children. Born and raised in Taos, New Mexico to immigrants to this country. Both parents worked to become citizens and business owners and were an example of how education and hard work can help families move ahead in the United States.
She enjoys walking, gardening, cooking, baking, family functions and is very active in her church.
