Marta Hatzell, PhD
Thrust 2 Lead
Dr. Hatzell is an associate professor in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering at Georgia Tech. Her research focuses on exploring the role photochemistry and electrochemistry may play in future sustainable systems. She is PI of the WAter, Thermal, and Electrochemical Engineering Research (WATER) Lab, which investigates sustainable catalysis and separations processes.
Her work and studies prior to joining Georgia Tech focused on the interface between colloid science and electrochemistry and on environmental technology for energy generation and water treatment. In 2019, Dr. Hatzell was awarded the NSF Early CAREER award for her work on distributed solar fertilizers.
